The Department of Iberian and Latin American Cultures at Stanford University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor who is a specialist in Spanish-language poetry, working in at least two regions and/or traditions. We are especially interested in individuals with demonstrated expertise in poetry of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Applicants should exhibit the potential to carry out a world-leading independent research program on poetry and poetics and should possess solid communication skills and a commitment to teaching and mentoring.
The candidate will be expected to teach four courses (a mixture of graduate and undergraduate) per year. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in a related field at the time of appointment and will be expected to teach and advise students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The term of appointment is expected to begin on September 1, 2025.

- a brief (no more than 300 words) summary of their expected research program
Candidates who advance to the second round will be asked to submit three letters of recommendation, a second writing sample, and teaching evaluations (if available).

The salary range for this position is $108,000 – $127,000 for academic year 2024-25.
