Description
Yale University's Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures invites applications for an open-rank ladder faculty position in the area of Soviet culture, with an anticipated appointment start date of July 1, 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses on Soviet culture and to contribute service to the department and the university. While the area of specialization is fully open, candidates whose research involves comparative, multilingual, and transmedial perspectives, or who have expertise in race and ethnicity studies, post/decolonial studies, gender and sexuality studies, or medical and environmental humanities, are particularly welcome. Native or near native knowledge of Russian is required; proficiency in other relevant languages is a plus.
Qualifications
Selected candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree in Slavic, Comparative Literature, or another relevant field at the time of hire. We invite applications from qualified scholars from around the world.
