Job Description: The Department of English at Arcadia University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Global Literature with a preferred focus in Literature of the African Diaspora beginning August 2025.

Location: Glenside

Responsibilities:

  • Arcadia University has a 3/3 teaching load.
  • The successful candidate will teach courses to support the English Department's required "Topics in Global Literature" and "Topics in African Diasporic Literature" areas of study, offer courses in theory and writing, and also support the Masters of Art in English graduate program.
  • Faculty members are expected to provide service to the Department and University, including student advising and committee work.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Literature (such as English Literature, Comparative Literature, or African American Literature).
  • Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching at the university level and show potential for producing original research in their field(s), as well as a willingness to collaborate within the Department and across the University.
