The Department of English at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, invites applications for a tenure-track, full-time, 9-month position in Technical and Professional Communication at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 16, 2025. We seek a dynamic TPC scholar whose research addresses one or more of the following areas: global/transnational communication and rhetoric; diversity, social advocacy, or social justice; improvement of information design and communication for oppressed, underrepresented, or minoritized communities; multilingualism or global Englishes; rhetorics of health and medicine; disability studies; universal or inclusive accessible design; feminisms; research methods; TPC pedagogies; or WID/WAC. Evidence of the ability to conduct excellent research is essential. The successful candidate should be prepared to contribute to our undergraduate programs, which include an English major concentration in Writing and a minor in Professional Writing and Communication, and our M.A. and Ph.D. programs in Composition and Rhetoric. The teaching load is 2/2. Ph.D. in a relevant field must be in hand by August 16, 2025.
