The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at Virginia Military Institute invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor with a start date of 1 August 2025. This is a full-time, in-person position, whose responsibilities include teaching all levels of Spanish (3-3), professional citizenship activities, scholarship, and advising/mentoring students. We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative teacher-scholar.
Virginia Military Institute is a state-supported undergraduate miliary college of Engineering, the Sciences, and the Humanities, situated in the Shenandoah Valley. More information about VMI may be found at www.vmi.edu.
Minimum requirements include a Ph.D. in Spanish/Hispanic Studies (ABD may be considered), and a native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English. Specialization is open. Military experience is not required.
