Position overview

The ANU School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics seeks to appoint an education-focused Associate Lecturer in French to broaden and further strengthen the teaching profile of its French Program.

The ANU French program, housed in the School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics, is part of the dynamic area of Modern European Languages. Expertise in Modern European Languages covers six languages and cultures, and a wide range of areas, including Linguistics, Literature, Cinema, Philosophy and History.

The appointee will bring expertise and educational innovation to an award-winning program, as well as an active research agenda in either language pedagogy or French Studies more broadly with a demonstrated interest in teaching-related scholarly activities. Candidates will have a record of excellence in teaching French at a tertiary level utilising their expertise in language teaching pedagogy. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated capacity to teach core language and culture courses at all levels and experience in developing French language curriculum and materials, including online materials. The candidate will also possess a demonstrated capacity to contribute to the program through collegial collaboration across research and service.
