Assistant Professor of English, Rhetoric and Composition Studies
Position Description
We invite applications for an Assistant Professor of English in Rhetoric and Composition Studies with specialty in Developmental/Basic Writing, a full-time, tenure-track position to begin August 2025.
This faculty member will teach introductory to graduate-level rhetoric and composition courses as well as First-Year Writing, speech, and literature, according to department practice and policy. Preference may be given to candidates with additional experience or expertise in TESOL/ESL/Second Language Studies and/or writing across the curriculum.
This faculty member will also conduct scholarly research sufficient for tenure and advancement and engage in appropriate service. A Ph.D. in English with a specialization in Developmental/Basic Writing by the appointment date is required. The ability to teach composition (especially developmental/basic writing) and evidence of excellent teaching and scholarly potential are also required. The salary is contingent upon qualifications, experience, and needs of the university.
