The Women's and Gender Studies Program at Boston College invites applications for a senior scholar to serve as the Hale Family Director of the Women's and Gender Studies Program. This is an open-discipline search, and the scholar appointed as the Hale Family Director of this interdisciplinary program in the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences will hold the rank of full Professor with tenure in an appropriate tenure-home department, with a preferred start in advance of the Fall 2025 semester.
Applicants should present an active research program and a distinguished record of publication and teaching experience in some area(s) of Women’s and Gender Studies. The successful candidate should have an established record of administrative success and should be able to teach both introductory and more advanced courses. The Women’s and Gender Studies Program’s current offerings include Introduction to Feminisms, Senior Seminar in Women's and Gender Studies, and Feminist Theory and Methodology. The Director will have the opportunity to teach courses at the intersection of the applicant's field of research and women's and gender studies. The University expects the Director to imagine and implement new curricular and co-curricular opportunities for Program students and faculty members.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Ph.D., scholarly expertise in some area(a) of Women’s and Gender Studies, a distinguished record of publication and teaching experience commensurate with the rank of full Professor with tenure, and an established record of administrative experience.
