The Department of World Languages & Cultures at the University of Utah invites applications for a tenure track position in Arabic at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2025. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach Arabic language courses at all levels, especially at the advanced level, as well as content courses in English in their area of expertise. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in hand by the start date in Arabic Cultural Studies, Comparative Literature, Middle/Near Eastern Studies, Second Language Acquisition, Linguistics, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience in teaching Arabic as a foreign language at the college level in North America and native or near-native fluency in Arabic and English are required. Adaptability with instructional technologies, experience implementing up-to-date foreign language teaching methodologies, and involvement in the professional field are highly desirable. Research activities are a requirement of the position. The teaching load is two courses per semester (2-2).
