The Department of English, Humanities, and Philosophy at Midwestern State University seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor in business and technical communication. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience and a research emphasis in workplace communication practices, technologies, and pedagogy, which includes writing for various audiences and within teams.

Responsibilities: We are looking for candidates who will teach undergraduate courses in business writing and develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in workplace writing. In addition to a B.A. in English, our program offers an online M.A./M.S. in English and two graduate certificates. This is a 9-month, tenure-track position with a standard load of 4/4 with optional summer teaching when available. Both onsite and online teaching are expected. In addition to teaching duties, the successful candidate will engage in scholarly activities and service to the department, college, and university.
Requirements: A Ph.D. in Business, Professional, and/or Technical Communication or related field in writing studies; experience teaching business or professional communication; and a research emphasis in workplace communications. Experience teaching quantitative research methods a plus. We desire candidates who are able to teach writing-intensive courses that complement and/or strengthen our undergraduate and online graduate programs. ABD candidates nearing completion of their Ph.D. will be considered.
