The Department of Modern Languages and Classics (MLC) at The University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time German instructor position to begin January 1, 2025. The applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate German courses from first through fourth-year levels, with the possibility of teaching graduate courses in the German M.A. program. Literary/cultural specialization open. Successful candidates will possess native or near-native fluency in German and English and must demonstrate successful teaching at the university level. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in German in hand by January 1, 2025, and who have an ongoing research agenda. This is a three-year initial position with renewals based upon satisfactory performance review and program need.
