Grove City College’s Department of Modern Languages invites applications for a full-time open rank professor of Spanish beginning in August 2020. We seek a generalist who can offer courses in Latin American literature and culture and who is familiar with ACTFL guidelines. Familiarity with second language acquisition and ability to contribute to the Spanish Secondary Education program would be an asset. Ph.D. and native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English required. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate Spanish classes in literature, language, culture, and the professions; participating actively in delivering a strong curriculum that equips students for graduate school and/or professional careers; and advising.
Candidates must demonstrate a strong potential for excellence in classroom teaching, a record of scholarship within his or her field and a commitment to teaching highly motivated students at a Christian liberal arts institution. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications. Faculty members are expected to teach a 4/4 load.
