The Department of Romance, German, and Slavic Studies at The George Washington University invites applications for one full-time renewable, specialized, non-tenure accruing appointment at the rank of Teaching Instructor of Spanish language to begin as early as fall 2025 with an initial three-year appointment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: The duties will include but are not limited to teaching seven (4/3) Spanish language courses per year, as well as participating in the development, maintenance, and implementation of curriculum and assessment instruments.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have at the minimum an M.A. in Spanish Pedagogy, Second Language Acquisition or Spanish Language; two years of experience teaching Spanish language courses at the college level; native or near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English; and demonstrated teaching excellence at different levels of Spanish language, as evidenced by evaluations, teaching assessments, letters of recommendation, etc.

Salary Range: $68,000 – $75,000 (Salary Commensurate with experience).
