The Department of Romance Languages at the University of Georgia (Athens) invites applicants for the position of Lecturer of Italian, to begin August 1, 2025. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track appointment with a course load of 24 credit hours/academic year, primarily in first- and second-year Italian courses, but may also include classes in Italian Culture. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to inspire interest in Italian culture by integrating literature, music, cinema and the arts in their language teaching as well as lead and participate in engaging extra-curricular activities. The ability to teach a second Romance language is desirable, but not required.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. (in hand by start date) in Italian or Italian Studies
- Two years of experience teaching college Italian and a record of teaching excellence
- Native or near-native fluency in both Italian and English
