Position summary: The Department of English in Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Latinx or Native American Literatures beginning mid-August 2025. The successful candidate will have training and expertise as well as an active research agenda in Latinx or Native American Literatures and cultures. A Ph.D. in English or a related field by start date and a record of innovation and excellence in teaching are required.
Teaching literature and first-year writing courses are foundational to this position. Teaching will include up to six classes per year, including introductory and advanced literature; first-year writing; and interdisciplinary courses in the Elon Core Curriculum. Additional responsibilities include student mentorship through advising and collaborative undergraduate research and contributions to the life of the department, university, and discipline or profession.
