REQ_0000060927 George and Barbara Kelly Professorship in Nineteenth-Century English and American Literature The Department of English in the College of the Liberal Arts at the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA, USA, invites applications for the George and Barbara Kelly Professorship in Nineteenth-Century English and American Literature in the College of the Liberal Arts. This is a tenure-track position and will be hired at the rank of Professor.

Candidates for Professor must possess a Ph.D. in English or related field by the appointment date and have an outstanding record of teaching, service, and influential research in nineteenth-century British and/or American Literature. Duties will involve a combination of teaching, research, and service, based on the candidate’s qualifications.

The Kelly Professor will make significant contributions to a dynamic and intellectually diverse department; there is potential, as well, for the Kelly Professor to participate in the department’s dual-degree Ph.D. programs in African American Studies, Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and Visual Studies. The Kelly Professorship includes robust support for research, travel, and conference presentations, and carries a teaching load of three courses per year.
