What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking an emerging teacher-scholar whose field of research adds innovative teaching and new disciplinary knowledge for a community of student learners as well as contributes to the expertise of current faculty throughout the various departments, majors, and programs. Applicants from any discipline who are committed to enriching the lives of diverse student populations are encouraged to apply.
This one-year Research and Teaching Excellence Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is funded by the College of Arts and Sciences and administered by the Graduate School. The RTE Postdoctoral Fellow will receive mentoring and professional development training.
The purpose of the program is designed to invite teacher-scholars to contribute their expertise to a vibrant academic community here at Baylor University. Candidates for the Research and Teaching Excellence Postdoctoral Fellowship must adhere to the strategic plan of the College of Arts & Sciences including the Diversity and Belonging goals as well as meet the needs of the specific department or program where they are placed.
*Fellowship Committee to Evaluate Applications based on expressed need from departments or programs. *
Requirements:
- PhD, MFA, or equivalent must be awarded prior to August 1st, 2025.
Preferred Research and Teaching Experience:
- Candidates who have the ability to work collaboratively and form connections across the university and our community.
- Candidates with proven track record of teaching excellence.
- Candidates who have mentored students from diverse populations.
- Candidates whose pedagogies recognize the wide variety of learning styles of diverse student populations.
- Candidates whose research and teaching can potentially impact the broader Waco community.
- Candidates whose teaching and/or research experience shows a deliberate focus or concentration in the following areas are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do
- Teach a 2-2 teaching load during the 2025-2026 academic year
- Receive ongoing mentorship and professional development
- Present research to the Baylor academic community at the conclusion of the fellowship
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
