The Department of Comparative Thought and Literature and the Department of Modern Language and Literatures jointly seek a scholar at Open Rank in Ecological / Environmental Humanities with a focus on one or more of the following: environmental aesthetics, ecocriticism and ecopoetics, ecomedia, ecological thought, and ecologically-oriented artistic practices, whose contributions would compliment our existing strengths and ongoing initiatives in this area. We are particularly interested in a scholar who could contribute across language traditions including and beyond European, and whose work engages both literary and philosophical inquiries and methods.
The Department is committed to conducting a globally broad and inclusive search for candidates who, through their research, teaching, and service, will contribute to the excellence of our academic community. The successful candidate will supervise doctoral research, offer courses in at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and contribute to the ongoing work of both departments.
