Thomas J. Kavanagh Chair in Rhetoric

The Department of English at Fordham University invites applications for the Thomas J. Kavanagh Chair in Rhetoric. This is an open-field search for a candidate suitable for appointment at the associate or full professor level, to begin in fall 2020. Successful applicants will possess a strong research agenda and teaching profile in rhetoric, composition, and writing studies broadly construed (including ELL), and will have experience in the administration of writing programs. We especially welcome candidates whose research and teaching would advance Fordham's broad goal of enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Kavanagh Chair carries a 2-1 teaching load, and the successful applicant should be dedicated to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and willing to commit to full participation in the department and university. To apply, please submit a letter of application and C.V. through Interfolio to John Bugg and Sarah Zimmerman, Kavanagh Search Committee co-chairs https://apply.interfolio.com/69247. Review of applications will begin on January 15; final deadline for all applications is January 30. Fordham is an equal opportunity employer, and we especially encourage women, people of color, veterans, and people with disabilities to apply.
