Frostburg State University, Department of English and Foreign Languages, seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position specializing in Spanish language and literature or Hispanic/Spanish Linguistics at the rank of Instructor/Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2020. The Department of English and Foreign Languages provides classes for Spanish majors and French minors in the department, for majors in the International Studies program, and for students in the General Education program. We foster a welcoming, collegial, and collaborative professional environment for all faculty.
Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be able to teach undergraduate courses in Spanish language, culture, and linguistics. We encourage innovative teaching practices for language instruction and providing support for students to pursue language competence through study abroad opportunities. Classes may include online components. Duties include student advising, active research and professional development activities, and service.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Spanish, Hispanic/Spanish Linguistics or related field. ABD in Spanish, Hispanic/Spanish Linguistics or related field may be considered for appointment at the rank of Instructor. Experience teaching Spanish at the university level required. Must be committed to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population.
