The successful candidate will have a demonstrated capacity to teach Spanish at all levels while incorporating innovative and current language methodologies. In addition to teaching experience, candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to student-centered advising and an interest in actively engaging with the communities HCC serves. The candidate should be willing to teach college Spanish courses to college/dual enrollment students at HCC’s campus and/or at Holyoke High School’s north campus.

The person selected is expected to maintain and expand the Global Seal of Biliteracy credential opportunity and other ongoing departmental initiatives, such as course and program assessment. The selected faculty member should be available to serve as department chair on a rotating basis and carry out a program review every five years. Candidates for this position should demonstrate an understanding of the needs of community college students as well as an interest in working collaboratively with colleagues, transfer institutions, and community organizations.
