Teaching Assistant Professor

The Department of Engineering Education (DEE) at University at Buffalo (UB) invites candidates to apply for the position of Teaching Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Technical Communications, a non-tenure track lecturer position. The candidate will join a growing team of technical and professional communication teacher-scholars, who contribute to the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Department of Engineering Education through teaching undergraduate and graduate courses that focus on effective and just communication within STEM fields.

In addition to effective teachers, the Department of Engineering Education seeks teacher-scholars who can contribute to new programmatic initiatives and teaching practices. Participation in innovative research is encouraged.

We are particularly looking for candidates who can operate effectively in a team environment and in a diverse community of students and faculty and share our vision of helping all constituents reach their full potential.

Assistant Teaching Professors in DEE typically develop and teach courses in STEM communication. Candidates may also have the opportunity to formulate and implement student excellence initiatives, ABET objectives and diversity enhancement; assist in the analysis of student academic progress and retention; and contribute to assessment activities.
